"Solid workout book. Something for every part of the body" 2009-08-20
By D. D. (USA)
This book even if you use it only as a reference for ideas or as a stand alone is well done. It points out the importance of working and training every part of the body to eliminate weak points and prevent injuries. Everything from the neck all the way down to the ankles and feet, with everything in between. I only wish alittle more detail was giving for training the lower back but other then that this is a good buy.
I have it myself and have used a few of the excercise and I have no regret at all. Even a few of my friends have taken some things from the book.
And of course it has a nutrition section, but if you know your basic's then nothing out of the ordinary here.

"Great Book!!!" 2009-07-07
By Neil A. Abbott
This book is definitly worth your time if you are a fighter, or if you just want to train like one. It gives you information from every aspect of the fight game. It also stresses that the information in this book is in addition to your BJJ, Boxing, Muay Thai, and wrestling training. It is a strength and conditioning tool. Like I said in the title....GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!

"Amazing MMA Training Book" 2009-06-27
By Joseph Cisneros (Chicago, IL USA)
Training for Warriors: The Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts Workout, is an excellent book for mixed martial artist or those who want to get into shape. The exercises in this book start off simple and increase in difficulty, and most of them can be done with very little equipment. These exercises are to condition you for real MMA training. Each chapter is broken down into different aspect of the MMA game. This book definitely would work best if you are getting trained in Brazilian Jui Jitsu and Muay Thai. There is even a solid section on diet to get the best results when using the conditioning exercises. This book is easy to pick up and read and learn different training techniques.

"Full throttle" 2009-06-15
By Sam Hail (Connecticut, USA)
Up to date and complete - Functional conditioning explained and clearly demonstrated with many photos and easy to understand text. Rooney has packed this book full of information and ideas which will motivate you to get started or rock you like a hurricaine. You choose the exercises and intensity - get up and get going.

"Packed with useful information" 2009-06-05
By Thorulf (Minnesota)
Packed with useful information and straight to the point!

If you find your present excercise regimen is getting a bit redundant, this fine tome is quite loaded with a variety of excercises that will break the monotony. Most of these excercises and drills can be performed just about anywhere, besides the gym, using a minimum of equipment, or no equpment at all. You will very likely find some unconventional ideas in here that may surprise you.

Some training books have a moderate emphasis on actual techniques, and excessive "padding" of largely trivial text to supplement the book with extra pages. That is NOT the case with Mr. Rooney's book, quite the opposite! There are more than enough excercises demonstated in here to keep you fit for the fight.
